Why Do Men Collect Knives?

This summer I start my journey into the art of knife making. One of the questions I ask myself is "why knives"? I don't fight with them, I don't use them for anything other than utilitarian purposes. Is it symbolism? Is it the sheer coolness of the weapon at hand? Is it the bells and whistles that come with the Sport3000 Megabowie? What attracts you to the knives you collect? To answer this very question, I went ahead and asked a few of my friends why they collect knives and what kind of knives do they like to collect. As for me, I love my Rambo knives.
