Lathe Art - How to Start Doing Lathe Art by Creating a Picture with Wood Strips

It was easy to see that it would not be hard to continue, and create my own unique piece. All that was needed was a flat background to glue the wood strips to, and of coarse the wooden strips of wood. I then drew a very simple picture to begin with on the plywood. The lady thinks that the piece is beautiful. It now hangs in our living room. Now I ask myself why I ever waited so long to try it.

Birds of Prey Harassed or Mobbed - Why?

I was driving home this afternoon in northern California and saw a large bird soaring fairly low over a very large grassy field off the road. I thought at first it was a Turkey Vulture, as they are abundant in our area, but I noticed it had a definite white tail with a wide black band. I had to pull off the side of the road and watch it for awhile to make sure I could identify it once I got home.

The association between Matchbox Toys and Aral AG, the Germany Petrol Chain began in 1966 and ran for 15 years. Over that time some very attractive models bearing the Aral logo were produced. These Matchbox Toys were released for sale in Germany, Austria and parts of Switzerland, France and The Netherlands. They were considered normal releases, not promotional models and were sold both through Aral Petrol Stations as well as toy stores and retail outlets. In doing research for Matchbox Toys trivia articles, I always find it interesting to get some background on the vehicles and companies involved.
